Spring Ball is comprised of the following:     (Age on 4/30/2012)

Tball League for ages 5 & 6

Machine Pitch Leagues for ages 7 & 8
Minor Leagues for ages 9 & 10, 11 & 12, 13 - 16, 3 separate recreational leagues              
Major Leagues for ages 9 & 10, 11 & 12, 13 - 16, 3 separate competitive leagues

 

 

New for this Season:

- Fee includes a $10 discount card that can be retained or sold.

- Text messaging registration will be done directly with our text message system, an email for signup will be sent as we approach the season.

 

Registration:

- Indicate if you'd like to tryout for one of our Major leagues.

- Donations to our Dave Gosselin Memorial Scholarship can be noted or made during registration.  If you note Yes in your registration, then we will contact you with donations instructions. If you would like to donate during registration, enter 387-3570-DG50 ($50), 386-3570-DG20 ($20) or 389-3570-DG10 ($10) as the coupon code. Your donations have provided financial support for local players to attend college. Thank you very much for your generosity.

- You will also see additional questions during registration and a comment section, please answer all that are relevant for you and your player. If you are interstfield.ed in coaching, please indicate this in the appropriate entry field.

WYBL will communicate with registrants when field conditions are not playable or leagaue information needs to be shared.  It is our goal to provide updates 1 1/2 hours ahead of the 1st game of the day.  We will strive to reschedule games within 24 hours of the delay.

Communication Methods: 

- Text Messaging will be offered to those who register.

- Website updates, primarily for game resechedule information.

Season Information

General

·    Cal Ripken Division is for 5 to 12 year olds, as of April 30th, 2012.

·    Babe Ruth Division is for 13 to 16 year olds, as of April 30th, 2012.

·    Cal Ripken fee is $90 for online or in-person, $95 for mail-in registration.

·    Babe Ruth fee is $110 for online or in-person, $115 for mail-in registration.

·    Includes a $10 discount card that can be retained or sold.

·    In addition, there is a county field usage fee of $10 for JCC/WBMG residents and $20 for non JCC/WMBG residents.

·    No fee refunds after March 1st, 2012 for Cal Ripken, April 1st, 2012 for Babe Ruth.

·    Concession duty is expected and required.

 

 

 

Tball & Machine Pitch Leagues (Cal Ripken Division)

·    T-Ball is for 5 and 6 year olds.

·    07 Machine Pitch is for 7 year olds.

·    08 Machine Pitch is for 8 year olds.

·    Practice begins in late March, game play begins after spring break, Play ends ~ when school ends.

·    Opening day includes pictures, ceremony and games.

·    Fee includes hat, shirt, photos, season memento.

·    Weekday games begin at 5:30 pm and Saturday games begin at 9:am. Teams generally play one weekday and one weekend game per week.

·    Games played at Warhill Sports Complex.

·    Practice days, times, & places are left up to the coaches.

·    Teams are primarily put together using general geographic areas.

·   Players are required to play in their age group (age as of APRIL 30, 2011).

 

 

 

Major & Minor Leagues (Cal Ripken Division)

·   09&10 yr. old Majors is a competitive league that will play on a 46' pitch / 60' base path field. 09 All-Stars and 10 All-Stars will be selected from this league.

·   09&10 yr. old Minors is a recreation league that will play on a 46' pitch / 60' base path field.

·   11&12 yr. old Majors is a competitive league that will play on a 50' pitch / 70' base path field.  11 All-Stars and 12 All-Stars will be selected from this league.

·   11&12 yr. old Minors is a recreation league that will play on a 50' pitch / 70' base path field.

·   Games are played Monday – Saturday at Warhill Sports Complex or a local school.

·   11&12 Major League games begin prior to Spring Break, Minor League games begin after Spring Break, and all games conclude at the end of school.

·   Fee includes hat, shirt, pants, socks & photo.

·   12 yr. old players who are on middle school baseball teams have the option to play in the 13-16 year old leagues and larger field.  Else, players are required to play in their age group (age as of APRIL 30, 2012).

 

 

Major & Minor Leagues (Babe Ruth Division)

·   A Commitment to baseball and to the youth league is expected.

·   13-16 yr. old Majors is a competitive league that plays on a 60' pitch / 90' base path field. 13 All-Stars, 14 All-Stars, and 15 All-Stars will be selected from this league.

·   13-16 yr. old Minors is a recreational league that plays on a 60' pitch / 90' base path field.  

·   Games will be played Monday – Saturday at Warhill or a local school field.

·   Player fee includes a full uniform (shirt, pants, hat, sox & belt).

·   Players are required to play in their age group (age as of APRIL 30, 2012).

 

Buddy Ball League

·    Buddy Ball is a baseball league for all children with special needs, ages 5 to about 20, who are not able to participate in other Call Ripken/Babe Ruth leagues.  

·    Our only goal is for each player to have a great experience.

·    We have players with a wide range of disabilities, including players in wheel chairs.  Play is adapted to each player’s needs, and each player is assisted one-on-one by a volunteer Buddy.

·    Games will be played Sunday afternoons for eight consecutive weeks starting in April.

·    Games played at Warhill Sports Complex.

·    The league provides uniforms and all baseball equipment.  

·    We have now played 4 seasons and have had as many as 40 players, divided into 4 teams.

·    Fee includes hat, shirt, photo.
